Having relocated to an area where a downpour can pop up out of a clear blue sky and be completely gone in 10 minutes, I think I want to find a quick on "shower cap" type plastic cover to carry in the trunk for emergencies only.

Ideally, I think it would be elastic around the bottom as these showers usually have some wind with them also. I can see being trapped in the car under the thing also, until it passes. Pure emergency cover. I have seen it rain 2 inches in 10 minutes here, then bright blue sky again.

Any ideas or suggestions of something that can go on in a hurry (Backdraft, and I know what the side pipes can do to plastic so I'll work around that) and maybe even toss out and replace once in a while if it's cheap enough. And, hope I never have to use it!
