My post pretty much supported what Bill is saying... I have 575hp and 690tq pushed by a turbo...it's nice to talk about it, but I think it's overkill... What I normally tell people who have never driven a light car is to go drive a corvette or Porsche or any other performance car that seems WAY fast....then break out your calculator... take the weight of the car and divide it by the horsepower and then decide...
I will do one with you based on my car... and say...the 2014 Z51 Corvette
Corvette is approx. 3300 lbs and produces +/- 402 hp to the wheels = 8.2
My Cobra is 2550 lbs and produces 575hp to the wheels = 4.4
Smaller number means more power to weight and feels WAY faster....
this is not to say that my Cobra will ever perform to the Corvette standard....because the power is simply not useable mechanically or Aerodynamically.
If I am ever tired or not feeling 100%, I will pass on ever getting behind the wheel. At a 4.4 power/weight and max torque hitting at only 3200 RPM, bad things happen very fast!
But....in the end....your car!!! Do what makes you happy...life is too short!
