Tim,
Don't use the through the rad mounts. I found out the expensive way when they wore holes through the radiator cores and being a 4 layer radiator it was not repearable. When I got the new rad the rad man he showed me how to mount the fan so it can't damage the radiator.
Let me know if you need further help. My fan is mounted on vertical straps mounted of the radiator side supports.
