Bryan, thats exactly what I need to hear, thought of using 3/4 by 1/8 aluminum flatbar as straps either vertically or horizontally...

Dave i had a look ..interesting, My rad has two mounting "studs" on the bottom and one centered on the top....as well my 4 core brass rad leans in at the top on a decent angle. Somehow I thought I could use these 3 points as attachment points for whatever stapping arrangment I can come up with.
There is no real face framing for the rad either, so strapping it to outside framing of the rad opening isn't likely either.

Last resort is to have 4 tabs welded on at the rad shop..to pick up two straps

Here is the 16" fan I have.
