Default Have a new engine that has been sitting a LONG time, what to do pre startup

I am probably a couple of weeks from being able to start the engine on the car...
I have fuel injected 302 Ford crate engine that was built in 1994 .

I plan on getting break in oil and priming the poop out of it.

A local engine builder told me not to worry about pulling the cam to re-apply assembly lube (a job that I am not sure I'm up to anyhow) just to prime the poop out of it and try to verify that the hydraulic lifters get oil.

Sound about right or should I see about getting someone to re-lube the cam?

What else should I be doing before that first start?
