I had my ear plugs specifically made for me by an audiologist. They are skin colored and you push them in and you really can't even see them. Problem is that my hearing is so bad for a variety of reasons, that I have a hard time hearing sirens. My wife has to hit me when she hears them!! The other thing I have noticed that even with ear plugs, the buffeting of the wind at freeway speed still hurts my ears. So i usually wear a beanie.
