First hand: My AAA covered the first 100 miles and the remaining 109 was on me. fortunately the tow truck guy (who was great!) charged me "only" an additional $350 to bring me to my house. He even helped me push the car up onto the lift, which was no easy task with the flat RF tire. (yes, I inflated it but every time it rolled to the bent rim area, the air escaped). Fortunately for me, my insurance picked up the $350 but that wouldn't have been the case with just a mechanical issue. The tow truck driver also told me to turn the bill in since it would probably come off my deductible, but getting it paid is at least a wash, one way or the other. Also, be aware, AAA will limit the number of calls they cover, in a year, so avoid the flat tire changes or battery jumps if you can, in case you really need the help. AND, I heard that on the premium plan, they'll pay for only one 200 mile tow, per year. Still, well worth the extra $25 if it ever comes to that. Right Peter?
