The two versions of the 428 CJ engine came out in 1969 and had hydraulic lifters. I think some of the 68 PI engines may have had solids but like Dan said, the only way to be absolutely sure is to pull a lifter and look at it. Ford used the CJ engines in the Shelby GT-500KR Mustang and the PI engines in the regular GT-500s.
