...and the great majority of ERA owners use the supplied cloth to cover the inside of the trunk lid.

As for the underside of the engine cover (hood to all you Americans) that requires work... or a fabricated aluminum sheet. On my second ERA427sc, I took an aluminum sheet with a cutout for the hood scoop (and, therefore, split at the rear) and slipped it behind the fiberglass inner hood support structure. With the notch and opening for the hood scoop, I was able to curve the sheet so that it, from the underside, appeared to follow the shape of the hood. The rivets that held the hood scoop, went through and held the panel up against the underside of the hood.
