Back in the day, for $19.99 you could buy a reproduction Shelby tag and take it to your local trophy shop. For another $5.00 they would stamp or engrave whatever you wanted in to that tag. Case in point, I have one that I had stamped FPSB
where the VIN should be. Nothing else was stamped on it, and I had been known to double back tape it to the footbox of whatever Cobra replica I happened to be driving at the time. My mistake was leaving it on at a larger, regional show and walking away. When I came back from talking with friends and hour or three later, it was gone, never to be seen again. I suspect another Cobra replica owner took it, but have not seen, nor heard a peep out of anyone since that time.
