Original Daytonas had the word painted on the fenders, the number circles on the doors were also painted. The script used was what would be called today "artistic", it was the style of the pinstripper who painted it and was individual to the stripper. This is why there was a variance. There were no laser templates, just talented people doing it. The "Goodyear" etc. were decals.
