Well, I decided to get a set of Mickey Thompson Sportsmans. After reading many threads on the subject with all the pros and cons that members have written, it appears that the SRs and STs are liked in equal numbers, and I haven't heard any damming reports on either. It seems like a coin toss!
I'm either getting 295/50-15 & 235/60-15 STs or 26x10-15 & 26x12-15 S/Rs. At this point I expect the Cobra to be on the road a majority of the time, with me starting to dabble with the track in the future. If anyone has strong opinions, I'd be interested! I appreciate all of the input I have received thus far.
As an aside, I went to Discount Tire in Rancho San Diego yesterday to check availability of Mickey Thompsons. They were pretty clueless about MTs ("are you putting them on an ATV?") and recommended I buy Goodyears or Coopers instead. I'll try another vender....
