Back in the 90's during the dail-in phase of my car put a call into K&N about the cfm requirements of the 468" their response was minimum 3"x14" with Extreme top it by the way is good for 500cfm. This engine now never lacks for air the filter sits up inside the grafted on much modified Harwood scoop.
