I use cork gaskets and just bond them to the valve cover. Have not tried the grease on the head side, but am going to try it when I readjust my valve lash. I do not think that you want to use gasket sealer on both sides, unless you see not need to adjust valve lash. Even without grease I have not had significant problems with
oil leaking.
