The bad news: The estimate to repair my engine is now up to $7100+ not including sorting out the original problem of faulty linkage/lack of tuning-setup of my Webers. I estimate this to be another $350-400 for parts plus Dyno time.
The good news: Eric at PE has agreed to pay for the parts required to repair the engine and carbs. He and my local engine builder, Craig Blood will work out the details. I want to publicly thank Eric for stepping up and doing the right thing. It says a lot about him and his company.

Of course, nobody knows what transpired between the two parties mentioned above, so there could be issues that delayed the transfer of the parts, but this sure does seem like a long time to an outsider.
