Oh you are sooo very correct that taking the body off of the frame would be a pure disaster.
"Wreck the Car" more like "Wrecked Him, darn near killed him".
It would NEVER be right again and would for sure rattle and squeak to no end on any day that ends in a "Y".

A "Body Off" of one of these wouldn't be worth much more than a Pinto.
And really how could one of these be in any need of a "Body Off" unless it was maybe in a collision or driven 365 in the rust belt?

An orig aluminum body slabside would take just as long to do a "Body Off" but, at least it would be worth something afterwards.
I would sooner put the time and effort into restoring a "Gamma Goat" or a Studebaker "Weasel" myself.

I actually had a very not so very good visual dream a while back in regards to taking the body off of the frame on one of these.
If you could title or put a name on that dream?
I would call it "Reverse Engineering" but, it would be a lot less interesting, fun and sophisticated as maybe the Chinese reverse engineering the F-35 fighter jet and cloning something much better than the F-35 itself as they have done.

What an absolute nightmare to do a "Body Off" on one of those.
Bumpers, hood, trunklid, doors off.
Then the interior and the driveline and electrical.

Then put on a Tyvek suit and start cutting out the trunk liner, passenger "tub", wheel liners and EVERY other fiberglass jointing laminated to the frame.
Then try your best to put it all back together without "jigs" for it to all line up..........Oh NO thankee on that one on any day that ends in a "Y".

And if I may ask here "KW" do you have any knowledge about car #404 that was asking $17.5k CDN that was in need of a restoration?
How bad can it it be to be only asking $17.5k? Really?
Bad, or real bad like it has a 1978 Chevy K 4x4 frame under it and was used for "Off Roading" bad?
