Default Different angle on scratch build

There's some good ideas floating in this thread, how about an idea from left field?

How about using your already sorted and registered Cobra chassis and re-body it into an iconic 1950's era sports car? I like the look of the 50's Maserati's and specifically the 1957 300S and/or 450S.

The 450S had a V8 in it and how about those sexy lines and curves.

I don't know about the laws/regulations in Australia but I think here in the USA/CA I can rebody my already registered Cobra without needing to re-inspect or re-register it. I'm guessing the dyed in the wool Cobra person might think of this as heresy but it's just a replica to start with anyway.

I've been thinking about doing this because my Cobra is over 20 years old, the paint is starting to show it's age, and mine is just 1 of many Cobra replicas running around. It's only got 34K miles on it, runs, and handles like a dream. If re-bodied to a Maserati 450S, now I've got the only one that most people would ever see in their lifetime. Now wouldn't that be fun

Of course, I'd need to finish my Ferrari GTO project first so I'd have something "fun" to drive while the new body was under construction
