I'm working with a Robert Pond aluminum 427 side-oiler engine. I'm doing some engine work to reseal the engine. When I removed the front cover, I discovered the engine went it's first 4000 miles without a front crank
oil slinger. I've read some forums that suggest you don't need this and some say you can't use an
oil slinger with a double roller steel gear. I don't believe there was an issue leaking
oil from the front crank seal, not sure due to other leaks. Should I buy one and install, or go without, or won't work with current engine setup. Feedback appreciated.
