What person in their right mind would assemble a roller lifter engine with a faulty tie assembly, be it a dogbone or strap etc?
How could he sleep at night?
I class the lobe as the worst I've seen, and I've seen many roller lifter/cam lobe failures.
The microscopic metal will be trapped by the
oil filter, but the
oil pump will be worn as a result.
