Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help. I was able to chip off some of the black plastic on the side pipe. The power washer with the green nozzle
(40% setting) did the trick on the hard to get to areas. I let the car run on high choke and got thinks good and hot first. I'd say almost every thing was removed except for a tiny bit on the back side of the inner pipe, which is now brownish.
