The solution.... for those that may receive bad advice in the future or be as ignorant as I was at the time.. .

Had the car at Track and Street.. Neil checked up with his cam guy this morning and based on the timing chain and gears I had already, threw a near new 3 bolt 5.7L cam in the engine, at what must have been light speed..

Its starts and runs nicely.. the oil was apparently very dark with excess fuel, but should clear up and for some reason there was a lot of slag or debris in the sump. Have no idea how, whether it was like that from GM or something that Denner could have done, but in his usual through and precise way, Neil fixed it and kept on going.. .
