I carry two fire extinguishers in my car. A Halotron unit, in case it's my car that's on fire, and a cheaper dry powder extinguisher in the trunk, in case it's somebody else's car that's on fire. The first one is clean, the second one isn't. But, before I would allow my car to burn to a crisp, I would use the messy one.
Trying to put an engine fire out with a shirt when you have a fire extinguisher in the car is just plain stupid. Sorry, but I think the guy's a moron.
