gn_n_60_shelby,

Craig Conley from Paradise Wheels in San Marcos, CA is the vintage Paxton man. He'll hook you up with the SC's and a ton of great advice on cam specs and tuning.

When I was working on my Twin Paxton rig, me and Tom Lucas of FE Specialties waited a long time because Craig was "soon developing" a ready made Twin Paxton FE setup. That was 5 years ago. He was in the middle of a move, doing TV/movie cars, etc. - just too busy. If you want the original style steel brackets, Cobra Automotive should be able to help. They do Twin Paxtons, too.

If you go the vintage route, then you'll need the Edelbrock X-F66 intake. And if you do that, then of course you'll need the huge "hickey" hoodscoop... I just sold a NOS X-F66 last week... If you want a better breathing intake, go with the Dove tunnel wedge. It's an inline intake and it will fit in a stock CSX/KMP hood with the ally bracket that Tom designed - check my gallery for a pic of it. Kirkham also did one - a webbed and intricate work of art that they used on a SOHC Twin Paxton. I'm sure they could whip something amazing, too. There's a ton of "lessons learned" that I'd be happy to share.

If you do go vintage, you want to get in touch with Geary Sarno. He's got about 40k miles on his Twin Paxton FE. Our setups are about as night and day as you can go on Twin Paxtons, but I've still learned a lot from him. Real nice and knowledgable guy. Goes by "Aggressor" here.

Good luck.
