It might be the pic but are the top and bottom of the window frame parallel Stephen? If not, you'd probably be best installing one large piece of Perspex on the whole thing, then making a smaller sliding panel.

Rob Hamiton would be another good source. He's made a few like this (with full sliding panels I mean).
