Continuing my quest of enlightenment:

Can anyone shed light on the history or backstory on the Blue Dot used on the 427 Cobra and GT350 tires?

I have learned they were "special" tires made for Shelby. First for the GT350 and then for the 427 Cobra.

And the Blue Dot?

Probably a Goodyear marketing tool to differentiate the Blue Dots from the Blue Streaks.

Why a dot?

Any why blue? Well, maybe to be consistent with the Goodyear Blue Streak blue color.


Anyone know any history or insider info.

I'm going to contact Chuck Cantwell to see if he has any historical background.
