Default Lykins Motorsports 427FE Build, acventura

Since we're on 427's, I'll post this one too. It will be a 427, but we'll be going at it a different direction than the 427 in Alan Carter's build.

Mr. acventura (CC member) contacted me to build him an all-aluminum 427, based on a Pond aluminum block, some Survival Motorsports cylinder heads, and a custom Scat steel crankshaft in a 3.780" stroke.

It will be an interesting comparison between two 427 FE's: good ole-fashioned cast iron power vs new-fangled-high-tech power.

Unfortunately, Pond is out of blocks and he's currently between foundries. His current estimate on block availability is the end of June.

The crankshaft has been ordered, the Scat 6.800" BBC rods are here, custom Racetec forged pistons have been ordered, Mahle rings are here, the custom Comp Cams hydraulic roller camshaft is here (227/233 @ .050"), custom Quick Fuel carburetor is here, and the cylinder heads with valves are on their way from Barry R. I also have the valve springs, retainers, spring seats, etc. here as well.

Will post pics and info as I get it....
