Not very much,same with oil pan.
Just under 4".
You have to watch curbs and stuff on the road.
I can remember years ago I came across a raised area in the road and tried to straddle it and the next thing I know my oil pressure was dropping and temps rising.
Stopped and looked back to an oil trail.
The drain plug was gone.
The threads were good and I just replaced it, I think it simply was unthreaded by the edge
of the road surface.
