Status on securing my registration:

I completed my VIN application package and released it to Albany early last week. It took a little time to receive the engine information I discovered I required from the original owner and build shop. I had talked to "Amy" in the VIN department, she seemed interested and helpful. I called yesterday to find she is on vacation this week, I'll follow up next week to find if the application with proof of purchase documents of the car including the engine casting numbers and VIN of the vehicle it came from are in order.

I did also speak to an individual in the Technical Inspection Dept. as well and was advised once Amy processes the VIN application it is sent to his department and a letter is issued to me advising what the road compliance requirements are for NYS (already have a copy from Amy) and a date for inspection is set. He said it can as long as 6 to 8 weeks before I hear anything, and I will not be able to check on the status, they will contact me only when they have gotten to my application. So this will put the inspection sometime in January, I'll have to work out bringing the car to them on an open trailer by way of a weigh station to receive a weigh ticket. Hopefully I can contact the local inspection stating in No Syracuse and work out the schedule around the weather here in upstate New York already we received 2 ft of snow this week. I hate the thought of exposing it to highway salt in the air.

Just ordered two styles of rubber edge trim for the visors.

I'll keep you posted on how things progress. Thanks for your help guys.

Steve
