Those Holley blue and red pumps (rotary vane) always are loud, especially when dead headed. They don't like it (noise, short life, vapor lock) and neither do most electric pumps. I am running a Holley gerotor with a bypass on it. Runs very quiet.

A good mechanical pump should work fine too with a carburetor. Just depends upon what poison you want.
