Just asking cos my temps pretty much have always sat in the middle of my gauges which is pretty much bang on what you've all said.
The other day however I had the car out for a little putt around town, and noticed the gauges recording fluctuating temps, both
oil and water. Ranging from normal to slightly hot. I wasn't far from home so kept my eye on it and then shut it down before it got too hot. I also noticed the header overflow was actually overflowing, a little different to normal.
Anyway, after a bit of trouble shooting found the fan was kicking in intermittently due to a loose wire. So I work to sort that.
Thankfully it didn't get too hot and no damage done, but it did raise an eyebrow.
