Having read all of the posted comments (and taking some of them with a grain of salt, considering tempers were probably flared), I find the following facts:
1. The Cobra owners on this forum and the DSCC as a whole do not condone actions like those described by Jason.
2. The Cobra owner in question has contacted the necessary individuals to resolve the situation.
3. Nobody was injured (thank God).
I appreciate that members from this forum were quick to speak up and reinforce what I told Jason: that the DSCC simply doesn't tolerate such behavior. I regret that the incident happened at all and I hope that everyone (not just the driver involved) has learned something valuable from this entire incident.
I also appreciate Jason's comments regarding the Cobra being a highly-modified, peformance-minded machine. Let's face it guys, he's right. If we are honest with ourselves, we can't really jump on the Subaru owner for driving the Dragon with performance-enhancing modifications in place. Hell, we drive
everywhere with performance-enhancing modifications in place, don't we? Seriously, how many of us have engines with less than 400 HP? Very few, I'm sure. Mine will have over 500 when it's finished.
Overall, we're
all sorry that the incident took place and I personally feel that a Cobra vs. Subaru rally at VIR would be a wonderful way for the members of both groups to get to know each other under
much better circumstances.
Keith
