I used a BA Falcon unit.. is three channel, independent of the body control computer and also has an isolated wiring loom (note.. use 4x front hub sensors, with tone rings on the diff end of the IRS drive shafts for my application).. havent tested it in anger yet... but that also underlines the futility of the requirement, as the firmware will be calibrated to the weight, tyres, suspension and balance of the vehicle for which it was intended to 'operate correctly' not the ICV to which it is fitted.. !

By what empirical process would the operation of the ABS be tested to be deemed it was functioning correctly..?

Have the factory manual, part numbers and schematic if required... also have a spare ABS unit and wiring connector from memory, salvaged from a car which was a runner at the time it was dismantled.
