I'm not completely sure this will apply but have you checked to see if your engine is sitting level in the chassis from side to side.? My ERA may not be comparable but the engine could be rocked quite a few degrees from one side to the other on the pedestal mounts. I used a level across the intake and the engine hoist to lift it slightly on the low side to rock it into level position before I tightened the mounts to the frame. If you have quite a bit of clearance on the other side at the bottom this might be something to try.
