According to Jeff at Karps the vacuum necessary should be in the 15 to 18 inch range. The purpose for the check valve is to have brakes once the engine is shut down. The system on the Backdraft cars has the booster line connected to the intake and no check valve installed. I am considering installing an electric vacuum pump should the new intake I have installed does not give me proper vacuum.
