I had a MK11 Escort 2l rally car.
Bilstein suspension, quick rack, pedal box, Group 1 engine with twin 44 IDF Webers. Atlas LSD rear axle. 4 wheel disc brakes. It was a real weapon. You could put it anywhere on the track you wanted. It was competitive in the loose ball bearing gravel roads of WA against the early Subaru and Mazda 4wds. It would run in the top 5 every stage. I won a couple of 2L state championships in it. It was awesome on the bitumen too. three wheeling around corners as a good Escort would.
I sold it to buy into a factory supported drive and enter Rally OZ.
Competed in rally OZ twice but ran out of cash to keep the dream happening.
It would put a grin on my face every time I drove it.
Oh well, back to building my Cobra. then my 32 tudor.
