I thought I would share this information! The weekend of our meet in San Marcos , Austin Texas is the site of the 17th annual Lone Star Round-up ! This is likely the largest get together of Pre 1963 hot-rods in the Southern US. I have attended it on Saturday for the last 4 years. There are hundreds & hundreds ( 1000 +) of hot rods / some nostalgic dragsters etc. Also there are food trucks , vendors , Music , crazy mini bike races - and some of the craziest people you’ll ever see. Starts up each morning in the Travis county fairgrounds when the event opens , then the people clear out before dark and invade South Congress where the police close the side streets and the cars cruise up and down ect...Too crazy for me and my cobra at night , but it might be an interesting venue to check out during a day cruise. The Travis county fairgrounds are off of the bypass so a trip through downtown Austin is not needed.(Thank God )
