So far the old pushrod SBC is still more than holding its own. The new ZR-1 is setting lap records all over the place, including besting the new GT times. Supposedly it will still be available in pushrod form when the new mid engined 'vette debuts in 2020 alongside two new gee-whiz OHC V8's.
I'm very open minded when it comes to new tech, but I admit to being disappointed when Ford put the Eco Boost in the new GT.
BTW - in addition to a blown OHC V8 under the rear hatch, there are plans to offer an optional front mounted electric motor for a combined total of 1000HP +
Ford really needs to bring back the Cobra.
