Another thing on my to do list. I hate the windshield mounted rear view mirror on my generation of car and am switching over to the vintage cowl mount style just above the dash. For you original Cobra buffs out there, I would like to know the following:

1. Was the bar that goes from the top to the bottom of the windshield frame in the center period correct? I'm pretty sure this was to keep the windshield frame from pulling apart at speed with the soft top on.

2. If you had the windshield bar, did the car use the slider style mirror that clamped to the bar and could be positioned anywhere or did it still cowl mount the mirror? Both styles are readily available.
