I’ve put a lot of miles on my Backdraft, on and off the track. The radiator opening is a crap-catcher, for sure, but I have yet to experience anything more than cosmetic damage. If it gets to the point that I can’t look at it anymore or suffer serious damage, I can replace that radiator over an afternoon and for a trivial expense. A lot less complicated and expensive than the radiators on my Porsche that are located behind gaping openings... I have screens to protect the radiators on that car.

FWIW, the best protective strategy for the Cobra radiator is to lead, not follow, any other cars
