Maybe. But I'm a scientist. I like to see proof. So far, all I'v ever seen is advertising. If it sits for 6 months, then you're only starting it like that once or twice a year. How many years before you see any actual wear from that?
IMO, you're better off using a good 0W-40 oil and not worrying about it.

OTOH, you have to do what helps you sleep at night. And if installing this does that, then I say go for it.
