Since my dad worked at Studebakers we lived out in the country near south bend. The most exciting car I saw around there was my Uncle Glen's Stude speedster.
When I was about 11 we moved to Greencastle Indiana. There was a Jag mark 10 in town, owned by Dr. Ann a GP. One day about 1965 I was riding my bike along the main drag and a competition blue 289 Cobra drove by. I remember it like it was yesterday.
My dad's boss also had a 3000 Healy and a bug eye sprite. Other cars were mostly Muscle cars or basic transportation.
I bought a sprite when I was at Ball State, a 61. It was very tired but handled like a go kart. The next two sports cars I owned were Miatas. Then the Cobra 427. I also had a track only Lotus 7 and a Reynard Formula Ford. The FF was the best to drive.
The Cobra is hard to beat overall.
