If you drove the car at max hp (maybe 5,500 rpms) then you might run out of fuel for a long time.
Fuel filters are a big blockage.

My buddy had three fuel filters on his Coupe. When he got on it hard it would run out of fuel in the top of second gear.
He removed one of the filter and it would spin to 6,200 in first four gears.

Worked on an Austin Healy with a 302 motor, C-4 and 8" rear end build by an engineer.

It would run out of gas after 5 miles of steady hiway driving. It had two small fuel filter. I replaced them with one large one. Problem gone.

The smallest hole in the fuel system is the control for how much fuel will flow. If you have a 1/2" line with a 1/8" fitting then the system will only flow an 1/8" of fuel.
