That drive would be spectacular as HWY61 runs along the shoreline
of Lake Superior most of the way. There's also the opportunity for
a "tunnel blast" at Silver Creek Cliff Tunnel near Two Harbors.
It's over 1,300 feet long as it cuts through the solid rock hillside.

The endgame would be Grand Marais. There are a few hotels in town
along the water. Numerous restaurants and pubs all within walking distance.

Minneapolis to Grand Marais is 265 miles or about 4-1/2 hours.
It's all interstate and state highway so road conditions are very good.

Two things to plan ahead on. Gas stations may not have high enough
octane for some Cobra owners. Probably 91 at best.

Also, The Great Lakes can make weather independent of statewide forecasts.
That can mean periods of rain near Superior even on a blue sky day.
Bring cockpit cover and/or temporary plastic rain car cover.

Duluth is also a good stopover point on the return leg.
Fitger's is a historic brewery remodeled into a hotel.
Next door is The Pickwick restaurant offering great steaks and a panoramic view of the harbor.
There's also a casino down the street that can be easily reached on foot.
