Default Superformance cars: Does your steering shaft/column rub the inner fender?

I never really noticed this before, but the lower part of the steering shaft (column?) runs through an indentation in the inner part of the fender or a molded part of the engine compartment. Even though the indentation was made to accommodate it, the shaft still makes contact which is visible.
Are other cars like this? Is this something that can be adjusted out by shortening the angle the parts are connected at? Or just nothing to be concerned about? I wonder if it has an effect of the steering feel of the car.
