Myself, I would much prefer to buy it un-assembled. One you can inspect what you are getting. No one can blow smoke. Two I can easily change cam, port heads, or do anything I like.
You assemble it to sell it. I don't trust it.
The only way I would consider assembled a plus, is if you had it assemble by a builder I know and thrust, and the assembler personally told me he will stand behind the engine.
Otherwise I am taking a risk. In that situation, I am only willing to pay half what it is worth and only if I think there is less than a 10% chance it is not what it is said to be.
