I had the same problem when the gas station I was using changed ownership and brands (SUNOCO to BP) when I put race gas additive on a fill up the dieseling problem disappeared, most gas companies are upping the ethanol content in their gasoline to meet new EPA regulations, which is effecting how our old motors.
