Wow, I have been out trying to break stuff driving my car around and had the day off and saw this thread. I had this exact discussion a year ago on the 460 forum after my new cam ate the bronze gear after a short amount of time. Blykins was most helpful and pointed me in the right direction. I had already installed a new bronze gear by the time I posted and discussed but pulled it and changed to what the guy that has forgot more than I know told me to do. So far, all is good, not sure why it takes 6 pages but whatever. Put the bronze back in and check it every month or don't, but go drive it either way and make sure you keep an eye on it. My bronze gear that comp cams recommended failed in the middle of Bum F!@# Egypt in the middle of an awesome drive on the coast. Ruined my day. The cam guys are going to recommend whatever saves the cam gear so you don't go back on them. It is not done with malice, it is just safe for them. Put your dizzy back in, drive the piss out of it and report back. I would love to see it.
