Using that type of relay you can make a trembler coil to get you home in emergencies.
You hook a wire from the closed contact 87a to the relay trigger wire of the relay and to a spare coil with a condensor. As the relay pulls in the 87A disconnects and the relay goes live to 87A again. This happens so fast you'll get a constants stream of sparks from the coil. You disconnect the centre lead from the dizzy and you put the lead from the trembler coil into the centre and as you crank the engine you connect the trembler coil to the + Battery. It'll run rough but it will get you home if your ignition fails.
