Thanks Brent appreciate your advice. I called Comp earlier and they said steel but the guy did not sound that sure. I called back today and the fellow I spoke to said iron as you have and when I read the description of the dist. gear on the current Crane Pro Billet I've been running it sounds like it is iron as well. It's very confusing so I appreciate your help.

The Crane dist. module is bad and they no longer supply parts so hence the reason I'm looking for a new dist. Do you have any recommendations? I was looking at Pertronix but they only seem to come with steel gears. I have also found an MSD #8578 which looks like it should work with my cam and Crane Hi6 ignition/coil. Motor is a 74 351W block with a 408 kit in it, 10-1. Performer RPM heads and intake (nicely ported). Cam is Comp XR282RF-HR10 Part # 35-425-8.

Any other suggestions/comments are welcome. Thanks for the help. Scott
