I tried it as a renewal and it worked. Total was $12.97 with tax. I’m good now until M/A 2025. Toward the end of the 4 years you must call and cancel full price automatic renewal but, as in the past, you will receive a reminder notice about the renewal at full price. I get a post card, cancel, and wait for next deal.
I've successfully done this with Motor Trend, Car & Driver and other Gun magazines.
